My Story and the Heart behind Lauren Kay’s Journal

a blog…?

I can’t even believe I am here writing this. I decided to start a blog on a whim and little did I know what I was getting myself into! Read about my newfound hobby here! Yes, there have been sleepless nights of anxiety and worrying about how successful or impactful it will be… But I’m thinking that’s the most beautiful part of this process, right? This post is about me and the nitty-gritty of my life story!

let’s get back to the basics…

I’m a firm believer in transparency and being real with people. Life is too short to have shallow relationships and hide who you are! I’ll get to my story in the next paragraph, but I’m hoping to share a little more of true intent here. I have always loved listening and watching the “mommy bloggers” I follow on Instagram and I just love that there is a community of people so fearless to share their life with others! I’m really hoping to make this space comfortable and uplifting for any and all my readers. Above all, I promise to be upfront and open, but most of all vulnerable with my followers. I am a very personal person and I have such a heart for serving others. I am mainly here to encourage and share my experiences throughout my day-to-day activities!

Now a little more about my story!
High school memories, just another area of my story!
High School Grad Party in MN
with my baby sister

I was born and raised near the Twin Cities in Minnesota. I went to a small private school and knew everyone in the class from 1st grade to 8th grade. Somewhere along the way, my parents split and my mom married a dairy farmer outside the city where we moved up to the farm the summer before freshman year. I loved the farm and getting to kindle my love for animals. I helped with chores occasionally which involved milking the cows, feeding calves, and cleaning up the barn! We had horses and a golden retriever who I named Kya. As a young teenager, of course, everything was my way or the highway though. I got into different troubles and my relationship with my parents suffered. I moved to Texas to live with my dad and grew to love it here too! Living in Fort Worth has given me some of the greatest experiences and friends and I couldn’t have asked for more.

is everything actually bigger in Texas? Answer: Yes and better

I worked hard in high school to make it to the top 10 percent despite having been set back from transferring states. I got more involved as high school progressed and created an amazing community of support around me between the faculty. My drive and initiative landed me in the top 5 percent at the end of the school year as well as acceptance into Texas A&M’s esteemed Engineering School! Fast forward to today, I have an amazing boyfriend and a few good friends I can rely on. Of course, there are areas of academics I can always improve on, but hey, I’m happy!

I’m hoping after learning more about me, you’ll want to join me on this journey and read along with me through all the ups and downs… We’re in this together!
