Trip Guide: Las Vegas!

Visiting Las Vegas in January felt perfect! We had amazing weather, though a little chilly at night and the sun went down early! After all, Vegas is mostly all about the nightlife! Most days we didn’t even get out until 3 PM. We had the right amount of daylight that quickly turned neon! Our two days in Las Vegas were packed full and I can’t wait to share!

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A LONG POST FILLED WITH PHOTOS, FUN, AND MEMORIES! COMMENT YOUR THOUGHTS! ♥

Day 1

Day one was certainly our busiest day! My family and I flew into McCarron airport from Minneapolis early, early, early in the morning. Luckily there is a 2-hour time zone difference so we had a longer day than usual! Almost as soon as we landed we headed to the “Welcome to Las Vegas!” sign to get a picture. Next, we went to The Orleans for their Champagne Brunch buffet! I’m not normally a buffet person. This one, however, was pretty good! I wouldn’t say it was above average for a Las Vegas Buffet, but we ate for free because my grandpa paid using his casino points! We went home to nap and let our tummies settle before our busy evening!

the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign!

I would recommend NOT visiting at 9 AM in the morning when the sun is shining directly into your eyes. 😂 That sun is brutal y’all. No joke. Bring sunglasses! These are not the greatest photos of us, but I love that they’re real and only slightly humorous. (Don’t look too closely😉)

a Vegas Style Buffet

They seriously had sirloin and créme brûlée at this brunch buffet!!! Needless to say, I wasn’t eating a normal breakfast! We ate at The Orleans, my first ever casino visit!

the LINQ Promenade

||High Roller

I would surely make the High Roller Ferris Wheel a priority on my list for Las Vegas sight-seeing. It is incredible, even during the day. It reaches 550 ft and my mom who is afraid of heights loved it! My favorite part was being able to truly see the scope of the mountains!

||Zipline

I think I would choose the Fremont Street Zipline over the LINQ. However, the FLY LINQ Zipline was still lots of fun. It goes between two buildings and over the promenade! Fun story, we *heard* the employees spent 18 hours testing it on their first day of work before they opened to the public!

||It’Sugar

Literally the largest candy store I’ve ever seen. If that’s your thing, it’s a must!

||Welcome to Las Vegas Store

Super cute, super affordable! I highly recommend stopping in to grab something for you and/or your loved ones!! Altogether, the shopping here is great for touristy things!

Flamingo Hotel

I did not realize how much I love and appreciate neon pink light on buildings. It is FABULOUS. Truly, pictures do not do any of these places justice. Needless to say, it’s my favorite casino to visit. 😂 It has lots of rich history, being one of the older hotels. But also, they have a super cute fountain with REAL flamingos you’ll have to check out!

USE THE LAS VEGAS MONORAIL!

The monorail seems to be the hip transportation. Trust me. No, but seriously, having a pass for this shuttle was verryyyy convenient for getting around! It takes you basically from start to finish along the strip!

New York, New York! (the Roller Coaster)

Hands down, the best roller coaster I have ever been on. I got slightly nauseous and my teeth felt like they were coming out but it was AWESOME.

Walking the Strip at Night

||Paris at Night
||Bellagio Water Fountain Show

I don’t have pictures of the show itself…Sorry! I have videos saved in my Vegas Highlights on my Instagram though!! The photo on the right is Caesar’s Palace next to the Bellagio!

||Hershey’s, Coca-Cola, and M&M (Yumm!)

So… All of these stores are massive. But the M&M store is especially cool. You can personalize your own M&M’s, but there’s also probably every M&M color under the rainbow lined up on an entire wall on the second floor! ALSO, I met the Coca-Cola Polar Bear!! Turns out, he’s very friendly and even more photogenic.

the Stratosphere

Day 2

Our second day was MUCH more laid back! We slept in, ate brunch at The Orleans again, then took a nap! 😂 We were honestly so swamped from the first day, and our feet were complaining.

the Eiffel Tower Viewing Deck

Oui oui! Welcome to Paris! First of all, the casino you walk through to get to the entrance of the Tower is magnificent. But the view… is breathtaking!

grab a snack at Giordano’s Chicago-Style Pizza 🍕

I could not have a higher recommendation for any other pizza! Chicago “upside-down” style pizza has been my favorite ever since I was a child!

Mob Museum 🔫

The Mob Museum was so cool to learn and read about most of the mob history in the US but especially in Vegas! I would highly recommend for the history dudes out there! 🙂

don’t forget to stop by THE Pawn Stars Pawn Shop!

Straight up, this is where they FILM THE TV SHOW. If you don’t know what I’m talking about… shame on you.

FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE

If there are two things you ever only did in Las Vegas… Walking the strip would be one, and visiting Fremont Street is the second. It is THAT important. I was continuously fascinated by this place and honestly, there are no suitable words to describe it, other than “Viva Vegas”!

Make sure before you buy ANY tickets for ANYTHING, that you check with Las Vegas GOCITY pass for almost everything! (for my $$ savvy friends; this is what we did!)

That’s all folks! 👋
