So far in college… December!

Hey yall, I’m back after a much-needed rest from all things responsibility with another “So far in college…” update! (❄ December Edition❄) I’m here to catch y’all up on where I’ve been the past few months! I miss writing for you and I’m excited to be getting back at it.

Since October…

Wow, it really has been that long. Y’all ever get caught up in the craze of a busy season and completely lose track of time?? Same. At the beginning of Christmas break, I decided to use the time I had this December to enjoy and really BE with family. It has been fantastic and so so restful, however, with the new year, I’m ready to get back into writing! Since October, I have been very busy keeping up with my schoolwork. Engineering is no joke when it comes to maintaining good grades. There’s been Halloween, Thanksgiving, and now Christmas since I last published a post!

Halloween on campus!

I had classes on Halloween which was unfortunate but honestly, I probably wouldn’t have done anything anyway. I’m usually a pretty big homebody (especially on a school night!) and I don’t like spending a lot of money. However, I got to work with something pretty cool this Halloween! I had an engineering lab in the morning that I basically showed up to in my PJs. We were introduced to this device called an Arduino! There are lots of things you can do with these little guys, all you need is a computer to get yourself started! Here is what we used in my lab. I’ve linked my report from this lab in case you’re interested!

I had no idea this was so popular in the engineering community! In fact, when I came home to my mom’s for Christmas, I found that my brother had asked for one for Christmas! I’ll put a link here for the starter kit, and I also found some project ideas for Arduino too!

Thanksgiving with Josh!

This was my second year of getting to spend Thanksgiving with my boyfriend’s family, and I loved it so much! Josh and his family have always been so kind and welcoming of me. They have always greeted me with warm smiles and hugs, and have never made feel anything short of loved! It’s been such a special memory for me to hold on to. Although I do miss my family a lot, and it is very hard for me to be away, they make it much easier. This year, we played with all the little kids, watched football, and spent time together talking! It was a relaxing break from school right before finals week! When we returned to College Station, I only had two finals to take. One of them was Physics: Electricity & Magnetism; which I Aced!! I made a 93 on that final and made an A overall in the class! That class kicked my butt so it was super cool that I was able to do so well.

Christmas in Minnesota!

After finals, I flew to Minnesota to see my mom and the rest of my family. I stayed with my sister for a night before going to the farm and got to see my nephews!! (Pictured: Grayson) My brothers came over and we sat down to play Catan! I would say it’s probably our favorite family game right now! We have the Seafarers Expansion so it’s a bigger map for us to play!

At the farm, I’ve been able to relax and spend time with my siblings; Eli (17), Casper (4), Amelia (3), and Frank (1)! We decorated a “Chocolate Chip Cookie” House.

We spent Christmas Eve at my sister’s house, where most of my extended family members joined for dinner, games, and conversation!

That’s a wrap!

I hope you enjoyed this December update! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
